Startup Canada Podcast: World Class Strategy with ONB’s Stephen Lund
New Brunswick’s startup scene is among the most vibrant in Canada. Opportunities NB (ONB) is taking a leadership role within that entrepreneurial ecosystem by building strategic partnerships with key organizations both locally and internationally.
One of those organizations is Startup Canada. Founded in May 2012, Startup Canada has become the most recognized and active entrepreneurship organization in Canada. The organization has mentored more than 20,000 Canadians and has grown to represent more than 200,000 entrepreneurs from coast to coast.
ONB is committed to helping communities across the province develop as recognized Startup Canada ‘Startup Communities‘ with a strong focus on supporting local entrepreneurs.
Last week, Startup Canada’s team joined Rivers Corbett for a community builder’s conference in Miramichi, bringing together some of the province’s top entrepreneurial minds. During that event, it was confirmed that Moncton, Saint John, Miramichi, Sackville, Sussex, St. Stephen, and the Chaleur region had all officially received ‘Startup Community’ status. These communities join the already established Startup Fredericton which has been in existence for three years.
This week, ONB is proud to host 2017’s Startup Canada Atlantic Region Awards in Fredericton. As a lead-in to Thursday night’s awards ceremony, Rivers Corbett spoke with ONB CEO Stephen Lund about his goals and aspirations while getting top-level tips on how to grow a successful organization.
