In May 2016, New Brunswick Premier Brian Gallant launched CyberNB, making New Brunswick the first province in Canada to develop a comprehensive strategy on cybersecurity and cyber innovation. CyberNB is being lead by Opportunities NB (ONB), and its strategy encompasses five key components:
- Workforce Development – CyberSmart
- Protection of Critical Infrastructure – CyberSecure
- International Research Network – Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity
- Incubation and Commercialization – CyberInnovate
- Increased Cluster Development – CyberSpark
In just a few short months a significant amount of work has taken place to further grow the region’s ecosystem. This work has been a collaborative effort with academia, government, and industry.
As part of that industry collaboration ONB/CyberNB partnered with the International Cyber Security Protection Alliance (ISCPA) North America and Canadian Chamber of Commerce to deliver a Cybersecurity Awareness, Education and Solutions Workshop in late 2016. As part of that workshop we sat down with six of the event’s participants for a series of interviews discussing cybersecurity issues and solutions.
Today we highlight our interview with Allen Dillon, Managing Director of CyberNB.
