The New Brunswick Export Awards recognizes outstanding export performance by NB-based companies in the international marketplace. The Awards aim to celebrate the business savvy, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovation of businesses located in the province that have achieved either recent and/or ongoing success in developing new markets. This was a record-breaking year for submissions with a total of 30 outstanding New Brunswick companies in competition
This week, we’re introducing you to the winners of the five awards handed out on June 1st, 2015, at Moncton’s Casino NB.
The Global Diversification Award recognizes companies who have opened up new markets outside of Canada and the United States. Developing non-traditional markets, or expanding into emerging markets can be difficult, expensive, and resource consuming. This award seeks to acknowledge the perseverance of those companies who’ve expanded their reach outside of the North American market.
Your Winner: ADI Systems Inc.
In a world where business is increasingly aware of the need for environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance – few companies can match the wide range of proven products and services offered by Fredericton-based ADI Systems Inc.
Industrial processors around the world rely on ADI Systems’ talented and experienced staff to deliver industrial wastewater treatment solutions that are innovative, robust, and cost-effective. ADI’s technology reliably treats wastewater from industrial processors, and their anaerobic offerings include biogas handling, as well as treatment and utilization systems for renewable energy recovery.
ADI Systems now services over 220 customers in more than 30 countries across the globe. Clients can be found in the food & beverage industry, pulp & paper, breweries, distilleries, pharmaceuticals, and in biofuels. Recent expansions include clients in the South American and Asia Pacific markets. ADI’s success demonstrates how global diversification can dramatically increase sales.
We asked the team at ADI Systems to comment on their involvement in this year’s NB Export Awards.
ONB: This was a record-breaking year for submissions resulting in a total of 30 outstanding New Brunswick companies in competition, what prompted ADI Systems to apply for competition this year?
ADI: We decided to apply for the competition because of our dominant presence in the international marketplace. Less than 3% of our sales are domestic, making ADI Systems a New Brunswick export success story—and a natural fit for the competition. We have over 260 wastewater treatment systems in over 35 countries all over the world. We just happen to be lucky enough to be headquartered in beautiful New Brunswick.
ONB: What would winning an NB Export Award mean for your business? (Note: These questions were asked before the Awards were announced)
ADI: Winning an NB Export Award would mean that ADI Systems is in fact making a difference in New Brunswick—and abroad. The company was founded in New Brunswick nearly 30 years ago and has successfully expanded over the years to build a global presence. In the process, we’ve created many employment opportunities for New Brunswick residents, helping the local economy. Winning an NB Export Award would help bring light to our humble NB roots, and showcase an example of how a local company can compete on a global scale.
Congratulations to the ADI Systems team on their big win!
